Joseph Silk and Gary A. Mamon

Joseph Silk is a professor at the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP) and Université Pierre & Marie Curie, in Paris. He is also the Homewood Professor of Physics and Astronomy at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. He is emeritus Savilian Professor of Astronomy at the University of Oxford, where he is a Senior Fellow at the Beecroft Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology. Most of his scientific research is related to cosmology and particle astrophysics, and his specialties include the cosmic microwave background, galaxy formation and dark matter. He has published more than 700 refereed articles and several popular books.
