Call for papers for a special issue of RAA on LAMOST sciences

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics (RAA) is an international peer-reviewed monthly journal which publishes original research articles, reviews and special issues supervised by guest editors representing important scientific progress from all areas of astronomy and astrophysics. RAA plans to publish a special issue in August 2015 presenting the latest forefront research results based on the huge number of high quality spectra collected by the LAMOST facility (also named the Guoshoujing Telescope). The issue will be distributed to the international community during the XXIX General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, on 3-14 August 2015. The guest editors of this special issue are Profs. Xiaowei LIU (Peking University; Email: x.liu@pku.edu.cn), Gang ZHAO (National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Email: gzhao@nao.cas.cn) and Jinliang HOU (Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Email: houjl@shao.ac.cn). Being a non-commercial, open international journal that is free of page charges, international researchers in this field are invited to submit research articles for publication in this special issue of RAA. Submitted articles should aim at rapid dissemination and communication of significant original research largely based on collected data from the on-going LAMOST survey. The articles should have high academic standards, be written in quality English, and contain substantial, original scientific results. As a standard practice of RAA, the articles will be peer-reviewed for suitability by an international team of experts appointed by the guest editors.

To be considered for possible publication in this special issue, all articles should be submitted to RAA using the journal's online submission system (www.raa-journal.org) no later than March 31, 2015. At submission, please specify in a cover letter, with a cc to the guest editors (email addresses above), that the article is for the special issue on LAMOST science.

We look forward to receiving excellent research articles about LAMOST science. Thank you for your consideration.

Guest Editors: Profs. Xiaowei LIU, Gang ZHAO and Jinliang HOU
